Logotype
Repetition, a bold approach, adaptation and introspection are all contained in the logotype I have created. Instead of creating a brand to be remembered by an icon or such, I chose to simply use an anagram of my name to convey a sense of abnormality and confidence. The logotype scales very well, has both appropriate legibility and readability and can be placed on a range of different backgrounds, solidifying the concept of adaptation.
CRHSI.DESIGN
I used Persona.co as a hosting platform for my website, and used their JSON script to apply the morphing effect in the background of the page. The background used is my work, and rotates according to my latest piece of work released. The website is easy to navigate, and you're able to view my last five projects (although only four are available so far, I intend to add the fifth when I create a project I feel should be on there) with ease. There is a link to my design Instagram as that is currently my primary platform for sharing my work.
Business Card
I designed my Business Card with the aim of informality. To create a memorable business card, I had to design something that was out of the norm, and the play on 'Hello there' with the extended o conveys playfulness but also shows typographic knowledge and brings a sense of balance to the card. In situations where I'll be giving someone a business card, I would hope to have had a conversation already and this will be the lasting imprint needed for them to contact me for us to work further.
Portfolio - issuu link here
Whilst my website was a place for me to experiment and take my branding in an abstract direction. I saw my portfolio as a more professional output and designed with functionality as a primary goal. The aim was to lay out my work in an easy to navigate format, with information on the bigger projects listing the context and how I went about fulfilling the project.
Evaluation
In retrospect, the project was successful, and I believe I've been able to encapsulate who I am as a designer and how I want to communicate myself to the professional world. Over the course of the three years I have been on the programme, I have come to develop my own personal style that can be adapted and manipulated for whatever criteria needs to be met. I believe this is one of the qualities you need to become a successful designer in an industry with a multitude of different requirements to be met. I found it difficult to create any form of logo as anything I created felt like I was forcing myself to become a brand and I felt my personality was lost in the designs I was creating.
